Sneaky tricks to look slimmer!
Styling clothes to make one look slimmer can be a little hard, but there's always help! First step towards it, is to own a full size mirror! Helps, it really does!
Here are few points to remember while buying new clothes:
1. Wrap dresses/blouses will always make you look thinner
2. Navy too, is slimming as much is black! Also, adding a belt on the waist/high-waist works instantly because that's a way of creating curves!
3. Color blocking and paneled dresses in the right direction is another trick, it's a detail that will make a person look thinner visually.
4. Opt for vertical stripes, it creates an illusion! And black and white stripes are in vogue as of now. Would be a good investment.
5. Choose layering! It's the safest option. Contrary to people's belief that layers will add on more weight it actually hides all the unwanted things. Investing in a denim jacket is a good option since denim is always in trend and is chic!
6. Never underestimate the power of shoes in this case! Shoes balance it all out. Avoid Marry Janes and Square-toe shoes, legs look shorter with these.
7. Do a balancing act. Add a brighter and lighter colour to the thinner part of the body. For broad shoulders - avoid shoulder pads and shoulder details like ruffles. It would be okay to skip boat necks as well.
To balance large top with a smaller bottom, opt for a V-neck detail with with a skater skirt or wide leg pants. To balance small top with a large bottom, opt for shoulder details or a Scoop neck with pencil skirt or straight pants.
8. Show some skin! Covering up the entire body will only make you look bigger
9. Avoid heavy, stiff fabrics and over-spandex-ed fabrics! Opt for fluid fabrics that drape well. Chiffon is a really good option.
10. Adding some darts at the right place, will add more structure to the body.
Oh and, don't slouch!
