Wear the classic White Shirt!
This time, it's something for the Men!
I see men refraining from wearing white shirts often, never understood why! It's actually the least boring item of clothing. Always looks classy, can be made into a classy ensemble if worn with right things, so here are few tips about : what can be worn with a white shirt...
1. Let's begin with something casual! White shirt worn with shorts and sandals,
This is your only chance to wear it rumpled and with rolled up sleeves. Take the most of it! Just make sure to look out for a tailored, unadorned pair, and yes, stay clear of anything with pattern or even a drawstring. Colours could be possibly anything, for a summer anything pastel, black and navy are being a little safe, but sure!
2. A tweed Coat!
Yes, it's a look of a school-teacher but it's just so old world class! The shirt could be left open for a casual look, and to make it preppy add a bow tie! Or just get inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany and wear a tie! If accompanied with white pants and a dark tie are perfect for a midweek dinner or a weekend brunch!
3. Next is a Cardigan...
A low maintenance look, still a classic. Wear it with a pair of jeans and any unexpected hue-sweater over the shirt! Even though people think a party shirt shouldn't be tucked in, I say for this look, tuck it in, to avoid the sloppiness it can create otherwise. By unexpected hue I mean- basically, stay away from black or grey or even navy, sneak a colour in your wardrobe, forest green, bright blue. The darker your skin is, the brighter the colour you can pull off. If you are too wary about brights, opt for a neutral: like a camel!
4. The obvious Navy suit
It's the most simple, yet the most effective look and is sadly underrated. A crisp white shirt worn with a blue navy suit and a matching tie, is perfect for a fresh Monday look.
5. An off-duty: on its own
Easy weekend look. If the shirt is buttoned down, its a deatil for a preppy look. The only thing to remember here is not to over think it. If paired with a good pair of jeans and worn with a brown belt and brown shoes or even a Plimsole, would make an amazing look!
* Plimsoles: are basically tennis shoes.
Just remember that sometimes a white shirt can also do wonders!

Ma'am I really like your article... I request you to keep writing more often bout men and tips on how to look good.
ReplyDeleteAlso the different ways u said about wearing whites is a cool idea... I prefer wearing white, and specially when I'm confused I certainly end up wearing white...
Besides the shorts idea is quite interesting but in Bombay it is yet not that much accepted....
